Toyota IQ 2009

Toyota showed off its super compact, C-segment iQ to the world in Geneva today. The car was first shown in concept form at Frankfurt last year, and will be produced in late 2008.

Toyota is touting the iQ as the ultimate refined mode of transportation and at less than 118 inches in length, it’s certainly small enough to be a devoted city runabout.

The iQ is called a 3+1, meaning it is capable of carrying up to three adults along with a child or luggage in comfort.

It’s hard to be sure, what with the dollar’s continuing fall against the Japanese yen, but the “quality minicar” billing implies the iQ will cost more than a subcompact Yaris and less than a compact Corolla. We’d guesstimate a $13,000 floor, with a ceiling of maybe $17,500, depending on the number and type of options available.

A silver medal will be worth RM300,000 while bronze will fetch RM100,000 but it is obvious that for the Cabinet Committee for Sports, the focus of the 34 national athletes who have qualified for the Olympics should be winning gold.
Deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced the new incentive amount after chairing the Cabinet Committee meeting in Parliament yesterday.
It is also learnt that the initial proposal had been RM300,000 for gold, RM200,000 for silver and RM100,000 for bronze, still a hefty increase from the RM160,000, RM80,000 and RM40,000 on offer before.

Busy in the kitchen today

Today are a big day for chinese people. I am thingking going out restoran to have lunch with family. But now with the fuel price hike. It costs a lot of money to go out to eat. I try to eat at home as much as i can as we are not a fussy eater. Well, homecooked food is still the better option these days, provided i'm the one doing the cooking. Today i make few dishes learn from my grandma. Mostly are Hakka dishes, cox we are hakka people. Example are drunken tiger prawn, claypot sea cucumber with pork rib, fried long bean and vegetarian Fu zhuk.

Main

- Fi zhuk 5Pcs


Ingredient

- Water 1Cup
- Sugar 2 Spoon
- Flour (tepung gandum) 1 Bowl
- Soy Sauce 2 Spoon
- Lam Lui (chinese Marinated red tau fu) Few
- Chinese herb (五香 powder) Few

Way
Use a bowl and mixed all the ingredient together. stir till all mixed.

Apply the ingredient on top of the Fu Zhuk using a spoon. Fold the over and lock them up with toothpick.

After that prepare the wok with little oil to fried the Fu Zhuk. Use a small fire so that is fried till golden color and not to long. Once ready cut it to small piecest, is ready to serve.

Dragon Boat Festival (端午节)

Today are chinese Dragon Boat Festival ( 端午节) also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous rice（糯米）wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats.





Qu Yuan was a minister of the State of Chu situated in present-day Hunan and Hubei provinces, during the Warring States Period (475-221BC)（战国时期）. He was upright, loyal and highly esteemed for his wise counsel that brought peace and prosperity to the state. However, when a dishonest and corrupt prince vilified Qu, he was disgraced and dismissed from office. Realizing that the country was now in the hands of evil and corrupt officials, Qu grabbed a large stone and leapt into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month. Nearby fishermen rushed over to try and save him but were unable to even recover his body. Thereafter, the state declined and was eventually conquered by the State of Qin.

After his death, the people of Chu crowded to the bank of the river to pay their respects to him. The fishermen sailed their boats up and down the river to look for his body. People threw into the water zongzi (pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed or bamboo leaves) and eggs to divert possible fish or shrimp from attacking his body. An old doctor poured a jug of reaglar wine (Chinese liquor seasoned with realgar) into the water, hoping to turn all aquatic beasts drunk. That’s why people later followed the customs such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi

The dragon-boat races symbolize the many attempts to rescue and recover Qu's body. A typical dragon boat ranges from 50-100 feet in length, with a beam of about 5.5 feet, accommodating two paddlers seated side by side. A wooden dragon head is attached at the bow, and a dragon tail at the stern（船尾）. A banner hoisted on a pole is also fastened at the stern and the hull is decorated with red, green and blue scales edged in gold. In the center of the boat is a canopied shrine behind which the drummers, gong（铜锣）beaters and cymbal（铙钹）players are seated to set the pace for the paddlers. There are also men positioned at the bow to set off firecrackers, toss rice into the water and pretend to be looking for Qu.

During the Duanwu Festival, a glutinous rice pudding called zong zi is eaten to symbolize the rice offerings to Qu. Ingredients such as beans, lotus seeds（莲子）, chestnuts（栗子）, pork fat and the golden yolk of a salted duck egg are often added to the glutinous rice. The pudding is then wrapped with bamboo leaves, bound with a kind of raffia and boiled in salt water for hours

An eight-month-old baby boy in Jilin, Northeast China has tipped the scales at over three stone.

Weighing 18.8 kg (41 pounds) and measuring 78 centimeters in height, he was born with a normal birth weight of 3.3 kg (7 pounds 4 oz).

Fuel price hike:Subsidy still in force

-To cushion the price increase, cash rebates will be given to owners of cars and motorcycles, based on engine capacity, through post offices from July 1.
-These rebates will be given to owners of vehicles with road tax renewed between April 1 this year and March 31 next year.

-Annual cash rebate of RM625 for owners of private vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 2,000cc, and pick-up trucks and jeeps up to 2,500cc

-Annual cash rebate of RM150 for owners of motorcycles with a 250cc engine or less

-Road tax discount of RM200 for owners of private vehicles with engine capacities above 2,000cc

-RM50 road tax discount for motorcycles with engines above 250cc

Oil price rise

Petrol will be RM2.70 a litre at 05 June 2008

The new price of premium leaded petrol (ULG 97) is RM2.70 per litre beginning midnight tonight, it was announced a moment ago. The price for ULG 92 petrol per litre went up by 74 sen to RM2.62. Diesel will go up by RM1 per litre to RM2.58. The 78 sen hike or 40 per cent increase for the ULG 97 petrol is still below the antiticpated RM4 per litre price projected earlier and among the cheapest in Asia. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at a news conference.
